Default g80 broke tru-trac in front diff fixed 149 in

so last weekend i installed my tru-trac. i almost didn't install it but something told me to just get it over with. well i popped off the cover and what do i find. three big chunks of metal. the wall inside the g80 that holds one of the spider gears back had busted off. i had no clue it had even happened. so i cleaned the rear out and the cover had nicks all in it.

got the tru-trac installed. then decide to rebuild the front axle finally and get it back in. it received all new bearings and seals. today i finally got around to rebuilding the nv-149 and got it installed. that thing was a pita. i pulled the shaft from the planet and out popped a ton of needle bearings. after cleaning all the crap out, i found the bearings with a little help. got those back in with some grease to hold them all in. then i swapped chains with a not so stretched out one. i also replaced the front output shaft seal. i have a question about that thing. is the inner portion suppose to spin and the outer portion stay still? i sure hope so. the seal was such a tight fit the shaft would not spin inside it.

with all this being said it feels great to be able to go WOT in the rain!!!!! i can feel the tires struggling to hold with a slip here and a slip there but its better than side ways at half throttle like before.

oh man its seamless. the old one would cause the front to spin like crazy the the brakes engage and bla bla bla.... too much crap. its been raining like crazy here, so just for ***** and giggles i drove off the side of the road by the house. it was slick enough that as i was getting into the grass the abs engaged. then i hit the gas just a tad and away i went. didn't even hesitate!

any ideas on the front seal? the inner spins on the outer pretty easy and smooth but i wanna be sure.
