Default g80 problem... i think

ok a freind of mine has a 99 z71 with over 90,000 miles on it. he's been having a funny grindy kind of noise for some time now and we could never pin point it. well another friend is working on this thing now and says that on a hard right turn it grinds rear loud and its from the rear and on a hard left turn it does it but not as loud and going about 55-60mph you can hear the grind noise to. it more of a creeek than a grind i guess. or the two together a grindy creeek lol. is it the rear end? gm just did a flush on it so the fluid is new. is it just at the end of its life? what else can i do to check this thing?

Mine would 'pop' real loud when making a right turn. It would clunk so hard when it engaged the whole truck would shudder.

It did it when I gave it some throttle turning. I was camping one time and started slipping on pine needles and it engaged so hard i thought I broke an axle?!

I would think if it was going to go it would be gone, I dont know if it gives any warning. I took mine out at 4K miles.

well i guess it ratchets on hard right turns and light left turns. the creek noise was the exhaust hiting the shock. they drained the fluid it had no metel chunck or any thing. and under alot of stress it ratchets i guess. i'm not there yet to see or hear for myself so i'm just telling what i'm being told. so is it suppose to ratchet in hard turns? i've never had a g80 it just sounded like an expensive peace of crap option so i opt not to have it lol. i've got a detroit c-locker. its been through to rigs lol.
