Default G80-Trutrac Upgrade?

Is it worth swapping out the G80 without a gear change or just wait until it implodes and then do the swap? I pretty satisfied with the 3.42 in my current setup.

Definately do it now as you are a ticking bomb waiting to explode with the TVS 2300. G80 have been known to explode, lockup and take out the tranny at the same time.

change it. now.

trutrac or eaton lsd will do the trick. keep your oem gears. be sure to use the right oil/friction additive if you decide on lsd.

Swap it now, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

If you have the cash, do it now. If you don't, save up & do it when you can.

The issue is that I'm not at all sure the 6L80 is going to last under power. If I have to "upgrade" to the 4L80 then I will need gears to offset losing the 6L80s granny first gear.

What power level (estimated) are you at?
