Default Gap between converter?
Ive been working on installing my new Yank pro truck 3200. Noticed i've got a little gap between the converter and the flexplate. How much gap is considered normal? I've got what looks around 1/4" or so. If I need to shim it do I shim the whole gap, or put a shim in there and leave a small gap? I read that if theres no gap at all the flexplate wont be able to flex, causing the fluid to do wierd **** and ruin the tranny?

Look on Yank's website it tells what is acceptable.

I just went and remeasured, its an 1/8th inch gap. I should be good but I'm going to to check like 45 more times just to make sure then call yank tomorrow. Thanks man.

At most 3/16" of gap. Mine was right at that. Shim it until its btw 1/8 and 3/16

Its right at an 1/8th, should I still shim? Might be a **** hair less than an eigth but thats what i shows on the tape.

Why would you shim that? You only shim if the conv is too far out. Yours sounds perfect. Just bolt it up.

1/8" is perfect, no shims necessary, bolt it up and go

Alright, thanks guys! Just making absolutely positively sure. Ive got a lot of money in the converter and trans and I dont want to take any risks.

If you are sure that your converter is pushed all the way into the pump and you have 1/8", I say run it. Vince
