Default Gasket for transfer case gear swap?

Do I need to put in a new gasket between the two halves of the t-case after swapping the input gear?

Also - do I need a new gasket between the t-case and the tranny or can I use some gasket maker?

Most t-cases don't use a gasket on the halfs, just silicon. If the gasket between the trans and t-case looks good, then I'd reuse it. If not get a new one.

The trans shop just put gasket maker in, so I don't have a gasket to re-use

So I can use silicon sealant? Gasket maker?

Yep it's all ready to go in, except I'm missing the engine and tranny.

Is silicone the same as gasket maker?
