My speedo is still off right now, but i'm guessing 15-1600 rpm running 65mph.This is with 245/75/16's.Yeah it will spin but damn, dodging ditches is soo fun.

Ahh hell yeah it is but I drive soo much that I would hate to have a gear that is not highway friendly. It just seems the 456 would not be too highway friendly. Ahhh this is such a hard decision

Hell yeah I wish I could as well. So when your cruising on the highway the truck is not screaming in 6th gear. Also does it pull or maintain its speed fairly easy in 6th as well?

456 would be minumal gear i woudl go with

The craziest thing is I just had 456 gears in Mr. Gibbs and took them out with that 4L60e because they were tooooooo much and now you guys have me going back to that size gear again

this is why you research first. when chosing gearing you need to knwo your plans for the truck. with the 4.88s and a 30" tire i can still trap 135 i believe if i needed that in the 1/4 mile and again be at 70mph at 2200 rpms.

the 456s was around 1800 i believe at 70mph and got me close to 140 for 1/4mile if needed...and this is calulating it in 4th gear for the 1/4 mile and 6th gear for crusing

yea exactly...research and ask questions get the most answers. i was only going to go 456s then realize um....in a fbody its not that bad and the difference of 4" in tires isnt enough to worry about going ot 4.88s. for some motors revs hurt them but ill be reving 7k so its not so bad and with larger cams the lowend is gone and you get bucking.

i drove a trex with 342s and it was a joke, drove a trex with 456s and the bucking isnt as bad and its just a happier car

i used to be fan of normal gears then when you get somewhat radical gears help more then anything

buddy put 456s in his stock motor ls1 and gained 3ths where as i thought it would hurt him some.. his mph dropped....he had to shift int 5th since rev limter was still set short [stock motor]

but 456 woudl be all i would go with with a 6speed truck. i went 488s to help with my combo
