That is awesome information and makes a lot of sense. The 5.3 is not a torque monster by no means so that gear with the 6 speed sounds like the ultiate way to go. Is first gear still usable?

Given the trucks lack of aerodynamics i'd probably want a minimum of 2000 rpm at cruise in the 75-80mph range with a NA 5.3.

I had a 4.8-a4 , at first with the 4.56's and it ran well but 4th gear rpm was excessive.With the lq9 and 6 speed 6th gear should net some pretty good fuel economy.Also I felt like my old combo would have ran with dads truck which has a 5.3 a4 with 3.73's.
