the stupid thing has a very slow leak and idk why, its leaking from the cover, i made sure when i had the cover off i got all the old gasket off and i even cleaned it up when brake clean.and i made sure the rearend its self was clean too, but still has a tiny lil leak, i even double checked the tightness of the bolts. looks like im gonna have to put a lil RTV or something on it.

Use a bead of black high-temp RTV silicon all the way around the new gasket. Make sure the entire gasket surface is super smooth with no nicks or dirt. I use some Scotch-Brite to clean mine after wire-wheeling. Slowly tighten the bolts until they are hand tight, then put a 1/4 turn on them with a ratchet. Now wait about an hour or whatever the RTV says to let it set up. Then come back and tighten them to spec.
I use Royal Purple 75-140 synthetic with my Yukon's and Zexel.

No additive for the G80.
I don't have to deal with taking the cover off my 02 Avalanche as it has a drain plug on the bottom of the rear diff. I just changed mine at 59k miles last weekend. It took about an hour start to finish, cleaning up included, and about 8 ounces shy of 3 quarts of Mobil 1.
