Default Gear Opinion

Gentlemen, I just installed Slide-A-Link Bars and now have some room for improvement. My truck crosses the finish line at 5800rpm and has a 1.719 60'. If I were to gear the truck to cross at about 6300 - 6500 do you think I would gain enough to justify the gear change?
Also Right now when I race I run 27" tall E/T Street Radials. I would like to run 29" tall tires like the fronts. So if I would re-gear I would need to cross at 6300-6500 on a 29" tall tire. Would this gear change be worth it?

Seems like you would need 4.56 gears to cross in high rpm's like you want to huh Kerry? There goes your passing gears on the street. Truck feels good though. I like the slide-a-links. Hope them caltracs work like that. Now get back to work!

What would the 4.88 put you crossing at? Not worried about passing gears on the street I guess huh?

Just joking about the 4.88's. It really depends on what size tire I race with and if I want to continue changing tires to go race.I might get Nitto's first and gear after?

I do not believe it's gonna be easy sticking that thing on 18" drag radials. It would be nice though. You try the nitto's and if they don't work just give them to me and then you can try the m/t. ha. Or you can just get Bogarts with skinnies on the front and leave that as your street setup too.

I wonder if thier is any gain for me to go from 3.90 to 4.56? Or is it just going to move RPM?
