Default Gear Pattern 14 bolt SF

I'm setting up my 14 bolt semi-floater and want to see what you guys think of my pinion depth.

Here's with .030" shim and .007" backlash:

And here's with .002" added to the pinion shim, backlash still at .007".

Looks pretty good, if not a little too much on the pinion shim. I wouldnt have a problem driving those.

You are going the wrong direction in the second set. Try 0.0275"

Soooo, run the first pattern, second pattern, or in between(.031" shim)?

I tried .027" and it moved the pattern too far towards the face/outside of the ring gear. I have pics of it, but I don't want to clutter the thread with too many pics.

I added the .002" to try and center the coast side a little better, but it changed the drive side more than I thought it would...

The 0.030 looks better than the one with more shim. You want the thick part of the contact to be as close to the center as possible.
