Default Gear swap

I am going to be changing the gears in my 06 from the stock 3.42 to a 4.10. Pickup is a 4x4 so front and back will have to be done. I am wondering if I should stick with stock parts or if there are better aftermarket which would be worth the money to upgrade to. Any info or opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

Was also wondering if gear swap throws the speedo off. I am assuming that it does and I will need to get a tune to fix it.

Which parts are you talking about when you say stock or aftermarket? It will definitely throw your speedo off. You should find a buddy w/ some tuning software.

Gears themselves. Was looking at Yukon gears rather than GM.

How big are your tires? If they are larger then 32inch overall height i would go with 4.56's...

Nope going to stay with the stock 31.5" height. I am needing the gears for towing. the stock gears suck for pulling heavy loads.

Agreed the 3.42 dont belong on a pick up. Go with the OEM gears.
