Default Gear Swap Pricing

I've tried the search button but nothing has come up close to what I want so I need a little help.

I already have an Auburn LSD and am looking to upgrade to 4.10 AAM gears. I was quoted around $600-$675 for the gears (AAM) and the install. Is this right? They're charging $275 for the gears alone and $120 for the install kit and the rest goes to miscellanious parts and labor? Can I find the gears significantly cheaper (to my door)?

I know there are less expensive gears but I just don't want to risk any noise or less than quality parts. Motive gears are reasonably priced but I haven't found any input on noise.

That's a good price for the strongest, quietest gear set out there (AAM), especially if it is a reputable shop doing the install. Gears are amongst the most difficult things to do right, and it is worth paying to get it done correctly.

Thanks!

What's the difference between the Motive "Stock Performance" and "High Performance"? And how quiet are they?

AAM gears in my opinion are some of the best around. PM me and I'll give you my suppliers toll free number. He's a AAM dealer and he's been in the business for 30 years.

I'm willing to go anywhere in the greater Houston Area for a good price though.
