The bill claims it is a Detroit locker...

But this might not actually be the case...

Looks like 14 bolt detroit locker to me.

Also, summit list the part number as 225C135A, which matches part of the casting.

Right..I saw it there. So...is it adjustable at all? There seems to be some slop in it.

I'm fairly confident you are experiencing normal locker operation. Which is why lots of folks go trutrac or posi. On the upside, its nearly indestructible.
