either way you go remember this, its better to do what you want than to put in ratio and be disapointed. i was debating either going with a 4:10 4:30 or a 4:56, i went with the 4:56 and everybody told me to stick with a 4:10 because the rpms would be to high
with the 4:56's. i did it because it would have been worse wondering what if.....

4.56 imo Try this figure the mph you mostly drive in then calculate the gears in and rpms you will be at to see weahter you are comfortalbe with the drone. Some exhaust will make you hate the gears then you will find yourself changing it to make up for the sound. This would involve installing the 6.0 first though.
I have 4.10s & 29.5 tire in my 4.8 and almost wished id went to 4.30.

AAM is the OEM manufacturer of GM truck gears. They're ring and pinions are built to higher standards than aftermarket companies and are priced accordingly. Ron's Machining Service on ebay sells AAM for the best prices (very reasonable, my 4.10s were $220 shipped I think) with outstanding customer service.

well i have land in the country so i do alot of hiway driving,if i was going to go with 4.10 can i buy them from GM. would like oe gears if possible.
Then he got a reply
"You can but your gonna pay up the a$$, go with aam."
He must have meant up the a$$ at the dealership as apposed to Randy's. AAM would be the same at both places but better prices ar Randys?
