I just went from 3.23's (barf) to 4.10's with my 33" tires. I can't really give you a good estimate of the effect on mileage since I always seem to be flying away from stoplights all the time now. I would do again in a heartbeat. I'm running the equivalent of a 3.80-ish on stock height tires. 4.30 would be a bit extreme for a DD for me and my 30 mile commute, but it is entirely up to your personal preference.
I need to work on the right foot tuning to maximize mpg's

Totally depends on your needs. 4.30's would put you at about 2500 rpm at 75 mph (typical open freeway speed around here). If that doesn't bother you, then go for it.

Went from 3:42 peg leg to 4:10 eaton locker and love it. It stays at about 2200 rpms on the highway at 70 on 20s and a 30" total tire height which is exactly what rpm it used to run at with the stock 16" rims and 3:42s on it. My mileage suffered a bit (410 miles per tank with stock down to 380) when I changed to the heavy 20s and wider tires but stayed the exact same with the new gears. Accelleration is MUCH better now and I think it is a perfect choice for around a 30" total tire height. I would not go any more for a DD unless you have taller tires but thats just my .02

Just bought an Auburn Posi now Im tryin to figure out what size gears also. Thinkin 4.11s or maybe even 4.56s. I do mostly city driving, stock tires, 3200 Fuddle Stall. Anybody have experience with 4.56s?

4.56's would be a good all motor gear with a taller tire like a 30". Probably too much gear for spray though. 4.30's would be a good choice with a cammed motor that can spin to 6500 or so that way you'll be trapping good rpms. 4.10's would be my choice for running spray.

i ran 4.56 for 2 years and i lived hour and 10 min from work and they were fine
if you go with 4.30 you can go with a taller dr tire and get much better traction at the track.
i'd go with 4.30 but i did not know they made 4.30 they must of just started makeing them i have 3.73 in now due to the 2 stage but i would like to run 3.90 are 4.10
man if they have 4.30 gears go with them you will not be dissappointed
