Default Gears vs mileage

I have to open this can of worms again, but what mileage are you guys getting with 4.10 that swapped from 3.23? I have 3.23 in my 06 and I get about 22mpg, just wondering what it would go to.

Right.
City driving would improve with less strain on the drivetrain too. Highway would use a little bit more fuel.
3.23's dont belong on a pick-up truck to begin with.
If you want performance you pay. Go with the 4.10's unless you plan on going FI in the future.

my 4.10's get around 20 on the hwy still... you just have to keep your foot out of it and drive like a normal person, which is hard to do at times.

I mean highway mileage. I get about 22mpg on the highway doing 80 or so. I gues If i went 70-75 with the 4.10s it'd be about the same huh?

Whoa, how are you getting 22mpg?? I have an 06 ext. cab w/ 3.23's and since I drove it off the lot I've been getting 17 on the dot unless I'm pulling a trailer. I drive 120 miles a day on open road, and I normally don't have a heavy foot.

I went from 3.23's to 4.10's in my crew cab (lifted w/ 33's). I probably averaged about 18 mpg with a mix of city/highway before the swap. I probably average 16-17 now driving the same way.

If you put any value on enjoying driving your truck, it will be worth the small marginal decrease in mileage.
