Anyone done this swap in a older body style (99-06) GM truck

We did this exact swap at my work.

We used a piggy back controller from https://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/

It intercepts the signals from the 411 PCM and sends out new CAN bus signals to the 6L80's TCM. The 6L80 TCM relies on an accurate engine torque signal over the bus.
