But there is more rotating mass.
I would feel like a tool saying "check out my bullet proof drivetrain" with a 10 bolt sittin under there. If that rear has the gears you want and you can get a better price out of them, do it. According to your plans, looks like there's a lack of traction in your future. Might as well be spinning those tires with something tough.

And 250 lbs more ... where did that figure come from? I'm pretty sure he would store the swapped 10 bolt somewhere other than his truck

If the rear end is in good shape and doesn't have a lot of mileage on it, that's a great deal as it stands because GMPartsDirect.com sells the 14bolts for $2300+ with either 3.73's and 4.10's

when I took out a sf from a 1500hd, It took 3 of us, to lift it off the ground, and set it in a truck. I personally moved the 10 bolt and put it in the back of my lifted truck, Id say 250 is a decent guess. That was a disc 10blt and a disc 14sf also.

Sucess. It is a 14 bolt. The guy is going to hold it for me and get the Vin # etc the rear end came off of and find out the milage it had on it. He said to contact him back in a week and he'll have all the information I want and have a work order printed up on it so they wont sell it, so I should have it by Thanksgiving weekend.
