This code Is a communication issue. Could be a bad ground or a bad connection. Could also be an internal fault with the module such as a bad solder joint at the pins.

Are you getting any other codes like the C0265?
No other codes (other than my evap solenoid one and the O2 sensor codes from the exhaust leak). Did notice a bad ground while under there the other day. Pretty sure my bed has been replaced. And I think it's the ground for the bed to the frame. I'll need to order a new strap because the eyelet is ripped off on the one I found, not even sure where the other end goes. I need a new ground strap for my Crown Vic Police Interceptor too, not sure where to buy one. Parts store guys looked at me confused when I asked for one last time. Can you tell electrical problems aren't my strong suit?

You can get a replacement eyelet and crimp it on.

It's very rusty and looks too short to go to anything. Guessing when bed was replaced it wasn't disconnected, then again why bother transferring it over then.

I'll see what I can do about it. Since it's not too much work to pull the ECBM (or money) I'll do that too. But I'll fix the ground strap first and see if that fixes it.

The one on the bed is to ground it to the chassis. The one for the EBCM I think is on the frame somewhere. Either at the front under the cab mount on the driver side or somewhere along the frame rail. I would have to look it up. There may also be a fuse for the EBCM in the Fuse box under the hood. I would have to look up the circuit.
