GM News (6 Speed Automatic)
This would be great in the trucks, then install the padle shift from the Corvette.

That first gear should enable you to have 3.42 (or even 3.23) rear gears which, coupled with the .67 ratio final overdrive, would keep the motor RPM's right in the sweet spot as far as mileage efficiency at highway speeds.
I would think the biggest issue in retrofitting would be the PCM, although there might also be challenges with regards to shift linkages, etc.

First gear would be useless with what most of us run for rear end ratios. I think the wiring would be a bitch, along with the tuning. You'd be better off rigging up the paddle shift setup and shifting it that way.
