Default Gmc sierra blown rear help!

So today i was bein stupid and screwed up my rear end, cracked the diff cover and it wont go. Im not sure as to what the problem exactly is but i am wondering how much this is gonna cost to fix and where a good place is to get parts. Not sure if it makes a difference but it is a 01 sierra with 3.73's and posi. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Are you planning to fix it yourself, or pay a shop?

For parts, I'd suggest contacting Ron's Machining Service. Let him know you're a PT.net member.

How did you crack the diff cover... Are you sure somthing didnt let loose in the rear and pieces inside have poked a hole in it?

Sounds like a typical G80 explosion to me. I bet the pinion cross shaft is sticking thru the cover.

AKlowriderZ71- i plan on fixin it myself and N20zuki i was racin and when i warmed up the tires for the second run it went, here are some pics

Ha whats tht? sorry i dont know much, nevermind good i looked it up ole google, but what advantages would that have?

Ha thanks! I guess thts what you get when u line up a truck with 250k + miles on it, I know i shouldnt have but **** you only live once!

Did the ring & pinion gears get damaged? I'd expect yes, but maybe you got really lucky.

This is a pic of the Detroit Tru Trac. It's very durable, and much stronger than the G80 you broke.
