Builder let me know that it's just a broken sunshell. No other damage. I hope to get it back from him tomorrow. If I'm lucky I'll get it back in the truck, and maybe get it to the track Sunday or Monday.

Yes, it was a Beast sunshell.

Yes, I'm reinstalling the 60E. It's my DD, and a cheap fix.

Yes, I've started collecting parts for the 80E swap.

I think I remember reading something about that as well, but can't remember the details. My sunshell was over 2 years old, and who knows how long it was warehoused before it made it into my trans. Hope the new one isn't a piece of .

Are there any better alternatives for a strong shell?

Glad it was an easy fix. I have also heard of a few beasts failing lately....Sonnax has a new "Smart Shell", but I have not heard a lot about it....

I need this transmission to be solid. My plans are to detune my 5.3/built 60E setup, and put it into our Yukon. I have bigger plans for my truck(when the budget allows).

Curious...

Good to hear the trans wasn't a total loss or anything, I was about to jump in here and ask how it was going with the trans.
