Default Got a couple of Converter questions.

I'll be purchasing a used Yank 3200 soon and I have a couple questions.

1) Is there any realiable places in the Dallas area that can cut and clean a converter? I know Yank does it but for 275 that seems kind of expensive.

2) Any good places that can install one for me? Or if anyone on here has experience that can help me that would be awesome. Would be able to save myself some money.

3) Can I drive the truck with the converter in but without it tuned for it? Or vice versa without haveing any problems?

I was told I could drive the converter in for a little bit but it may mess with my shift firmness and shift points.

Thanks for helping a converter noob,
Chad

Which Yank converter? Personally if it needs to be flushed I would only send it to the MFG and get a nice warm fuzzy guaranty from Dave for that $275.

A converter is a converter is a converter Those guys are pros, some of the best in the industry. They can definitely handle it, I assure you

Not to mention they are in Houston, and shipping times are very quick with them.

Alright, thanks Scott.

Have you ever install a converter? Or know any good places in Dallas to get it done at?

I didn't install mine because I had Chase do it when he built my tranny. But it's really not all that hard. Just remove the tranny from the truck, pull off the old TC, fill up the new TC with fluid, push it onto the input shaft of the tranny until it clicks 3 times (I think it's 3). Make sure it spins freely, no binding or anything. Reinstall and add tranny fluid as required.
