i think the going rate in the Dallas area to remove and re-install a converter is around $450-500. I called Plano Tranmission a while ago and some other place and these were the quotes given

Call phoenix transmission in weatherford. They can cut/clean the convertor and install it for you. They do good work. I had one of thier trannies and verter in my mustang along time ago. It took the daily beatings and never skipped a beat.
