Got me a 14 SF 6 lugger
after buyin a 6.0, turbo and t56 i realize that the stock rear isnt gonna cut it...i wanted to get a 3/4 or 1 ton rear but didnt want to get different axles or anything like that so i remember a kid in high school had an 89 2500 6 lug...so the hunt began and sure enough a local guy about 1/4 up the road from me had one...i traded him a set of wheels and he gave me some cash so now i gotta save and get locker and rear gears for it...
found a lot of good threads with conversion info so i think that this should be a bad swap...found this site in a thread for disc brake conversion, looks like its a home run

keep an eye open for lots of build threads on my truck seeing i have lots of work to do!...

heres a build thread of one...https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=385553
i just did a quick search and found lots of info...i know that some of the newer trucks came with them factory and are direct bolt in but seeing that are around 1000-1500 bucks if you can find out, i chose this route...havnt decided on rear gears yet, leaning heavy on 4.88s or 4.56s, gotta read some more before i pull the trigger...

yes 4.10s arnt totally outta the picture, but literally my truck sees about 75%-85% city driving, so im kinda leaning on giving up on some of the performance part if you will to have that nice every dad driveability...but i very well might be buying a small little honda or something to drive everyday so i dont have that problem...if i could keep the same ratio i have now(between my current trans and 3.73s) and the new setup, i think that would be good...just gotta keep diggin up old threads and looking on gear calculators...
