Did you use a new crush sleeve when you put the yoke back on? Any time the pinion nut comes off install a new crush sleeve. If not you can induce a slight wobble in the pinion bearing causing the seal to leak. Some have luck taking the pinion nut off, replace seal and then impact gun the nut back on. I cringe when I see that.

I kept the crush sleeve in there and retightened the pinion nut to the same place it was before. I would have replaced the nut but no one had one in stock and I didnt have time to wait. I tightened it by hand when I put it back on.

I dont suppose the vent is clogged but I havent checked...that at least gives me something to try.

When changing the oil, don't use the paper gasket. Just coat the housing, and the cover and that's it.

either way, you're supposed to put in a new crush sleave, and a new nut.

If you don't, there's not enough pre load, and it's going to chew up the gears from too much freeplay/slop. Usually when a front seal goes bad, it's the bearings that are the issue.

You can replace the seal, and the yoke, and you're still going to have the same problems.

It has leaked ever since I had it rebuilt, maybe it wasnt setup right?

I tightened the nut barely passed where it was before so it wouldnt fall off.

When I replace the cover, what do you think I should try for the pinion seal leak?

New crush sleeve and nut. Check pinion depth and preload, set backlash, check pattern. If you get the usual "you ain't gotta do all that" tell that person to read a service manual and take it somewhere else. Not trying to be a dick but that's the way it has to be done.

Small note, the included bolts were the wrong thread. Not a big deal since I got stainless anyway. I used almost a full gallon filling her up with the new cover. Hasnt dripped a single drop so im happy
