Got some strange noises coming from the truck

The pump clip can pop out at any time. Check out the tcase input shaft swap thread and youll see the little clip that Im referencing. Its a little flimsy metal clip that can pop out pretty easily and then the chain will start chewing away the case.

Yep Ive only repaired one of these pump rub tcases and the fluid was filled with aluminum shavings as has been the description of everyone else who has had the problem.

i checked to see if the wheel bearings were bad today and they are fine. this weekend i'll drain the fluid in the tcase. i would like to also add i had some new gears installed at a local shop about 2 months before i put the truck down for the turbo build, so they only have about 4 months of road wear on them, i thought that might be the problem if they werent installed right, but if that was the case wouldnt it be roaring all the time instead of when im running around 20-40mph and in the throttle.

Just a word of warning, I've had noisy bearings with no play at all, seen it many times...but if you're hearing the noise from the rear of the truck I doubt that your front bearings are at fault.

i should also add that i get a service 4wd light alot, i need to check the tcase fluid to see if i have metal shavings in it like stated above. how hard is it to rebuild one of these transfer cases, which one is in my truck anyway. its a 00 z71, its an auto tcase.

It should be the NVG 246-NP8 (Two Speed Automatic) Transfer Case.
