i never liked the G80 cause you never know if its gonna lock or not.
With the Eaton LSD you know both are gonna have the same amount of traction. I havent dealt with a TT yet but im putting on in the front of my Samurai so maybe ill be more help later.

Thanks for the info.
Got stuck in my driveway with the 18" snow we got this month. Changed the tires, was slick 245/75's now 285/75's. Now will have to change the ratio. Currently have 3.42 thinking about 3.73's and an Auburn Posi.

If you drive a tru-trac and it slips on snow or ice you just tap the brake and it will "lock-in" as it were. A LSD needs some resistance to engage the clutches. I have a few friends with tru-tracs in 4WD trucks, as soon as they start to spin in the muck snow or Ice they tap the brakes with their left foot while keeping the gas depressed slightly and they just power right out, even in 2WD.
But yeah a Gov-lock is fine on a DD....My 03 had one and I beat that like a redheaded step child, never failed me....But I only had a custom tune 31's and an exhaust.

This is incorrect, the LSD clutches are ALWAYS engaged, it takes some resistance in the form of wheel speed differentiation to opver come the cluch pack friction, which causes the clutches to slip one one another.

Trust me, the tru trac needs assistance from the brake when the wheels spin freely. Centrifugal force pulls your clutches apart too, so your not powering both wheels all the time over a certain speed...this is not only dangerous (for the general public), but horrible for fuel economy. This is basically what happens on ice when you are just spinning. So you need to touch the brakes to re-engage the clutches.
