Unhappy Hangars or leafsprings?

Hey guys,

I have a 04' silverado 1500 reg cab, and want a 4" drop in the back. Which do yall reccomend, leaf springs or hangars and shackles?
I can't decide, its making me sick.

hangers and shackles give u the same ride , and towing abilites . leafs give u better handleing besides just sitting lower , but also cuts your towing abilities in half . so its your choice

They are stiffer so wont lean as much in coners. And if you add a rear sway bar it will handle like its on rails!!

Leafs are nice. Handling improved alot, no more lean. Although I did sways too. With good shocks it wont ride too bad.

Seems like changing the leafs would make the ride less stiff since they are not as strong as the oem. "also cuts your towing abilities in half ".

ya there dearched more then stock ones and lot stiffer . and yes it cuts your towing abilites in half . so no more 6,000 pounds and 600 tongue weight , maybe 3,000 and 300 understand

Leaves would be easier to install but because of the towing capacity difference I'd go with the shackle/hanger combo. I got shackles with spring clamps right now and I'm gonna get some hangers one day when I get the cash/time to do it. It mainly depends on what you want to do with the truck and how you want it to handle.
