Talking Hanging the Hoops!

It's always been my understanding to increase traction you need to get as much weight on the back wheels as possible. With cars you can run different front coils, like ones made by Moroso. Or you can even switch to coil overs.

What Moroso does, is the use a smaller dia. wire and make the coil taller with more turns. This creates more stored energy, but not necessarily a higher spring rate that helps the front end rise when launching. Combine that with 90/10 shocks and you can hang the hoops.

Obviously I won't be pulling the wheels with an EC truck, but I would like to get more weight transfer. Does anybody know the stock dimensions of a coil spring for our trucks? Does anyone know of a coil spring company that will make some for us?

I don't see many trucks pulling the front wheels, but for the ones that do, how do they do get some much weight transfer?

the main ingredient in yanking the wheels at 5k+ pounds is POWA and lots of it. I plan to get it done with ~650rwhp and a light truck on slicks, but thats just me. good luck either way, t-brake with that long *** driveshaft should be fun!

Mines a 2 piece that I had custom made. Thick walled tubing and 1350 u-joints. Anyway, I'm not trying to pull the wheels. That's just nuts! Just a little more weight transfer. Every little bit helps right? I just don't think stock springs will really do much, I think there's something left on the table there.

i would focus on the shocks and tires more if you want to get the best setup. Leaf springs in the back aren't the greatest platform in the world but it'll work for most of us. I would look at a coil over conversion or some better, adjustable shocks in the rear with a set of cal tracs and a good set of tires.

I have caltracs and I plan on slicks. I'm not completley sold on running a 4 link, because I still use my truck as a truck. If I knew of any coil overs for the front, I'd be on it, but
