Default Having difficulties deciding on which converter to buy for the 80 swap

First off it will be a CircleD no problems deciding on the brand. It will be a single disk because i dont see me locking it up at WOT. So my two choices are the 258mm 3B 3200-3400 or the 245mm 3C 3500-3700. I loved my 278mm 3200 in the 60 so i am leaning towards the 3B, but i kinda want it to hit hard and iay end up with a bigger cam so the 3C is also interesting.

I just cant decide. Also i want to take advantage of the 5% off that circled is offering this weekend.

Guys that are NA with the 80 what do you have or wish you had.

Do the triple disc now and be done with it.

I would do a 3200 and have a have a good mannered every day verter and it should hit hard when you get on it.

Not at all Corey, except for firmness,

I currently have both my trucks with triple disc converters and my old turbocharged Z71 had a PI tripple disc both FI and N/A.

Just a nice firm lockup , not jaw busting or jerking. Very nice and firm, the wife prob wouldnt notice, just feels like it shifts into another gear Haha!

Seriously though it doesnt degrade daily driveing at all. I like feeling my lockup.

I would get whatever they offer in a higher stall. Gotta be 3600 atleast. My motor makes a good amount of power and was very violet with the 60e on motor even. I have a bigger/higher stall with the 80 now and it really feels quite a bit slower on motor. Leaving the line anyways.

Also, it appears as though your set on circle to get in on their discounts this weekend. The company I bought my new converter from is a sponsor on tech and is offering $150+ discounts this weekend. We use the same company's converters in all out small tire heads up and nitrous cars around here. Great product with great service

I know this aint gonna help. But i cant remember for the life of me what circled stall i had, i wanna say it was a 2C? Bought it used and sent it to chris to have it restalled when he cut/cleaned it to a 3000-3200.
But with 6psi brake stalling it, it would go 5200 rpms. That was wayy too loose so i bought a yank. Ended up sellin both and went back stock.

Ill have to ask my buddy which circle d he has in his 5.3 truck.
I know its a triple disk.

My converter is pretty tight on the bottom but flashes a ways up there. A buddy of mine had a procharged truck with a 4400 FTI converter that is awesome around town.

I would never try to talk you out of a circle d converter. Chris has a great product and many trucks like ours run them. My reasoning for going with FTI is I have a specific goal in mind that has to do with nitrous. Since our fast nitrous cars run an FTI converter, it was a no brainer to go with them.

FTI has an ad in the sponsor section on tech describing what's on sale and how each converter will act.

Lots of people on tech run a converter from greg just like a lot of people here run one from chris. I don't think you can go wrong with either company
