Help! 2001 Tahoe with new brakes and soft brake pedal
Anyone have any ideas? Just put new pads on turned rotors. Flushed and bled the system thoroughly, and the brakes are hard with the key off. Turn engine on and brakes go soft. Anyone know the answer? There are no ABS errors or indicator lights.

I'd guess there is still air or water in the system. You won't be able to flush the abs circuit but there really isn't much in there. How did you bleed? Manual method with helper or power bleeder. I have had much better luck bleeding since buying a power bleeder. Just hook it up to the master cylinder, pressurize, and bleed at each wheel.
Here's what I do. Fully flush/bleed brakes. Find dirt or gravel road and trigger the abs a few times. Then I go back and bleed again.
Good Luck
BTW-When I swapped in SS brake lines, I got a much firmer brake pedal.

I told my frined that we just need to bleed his brakes some more and he'll be bringing it back over pretty soon. He did mention that he tried to activate ABS and only the right side felt like lit activated. I'm betting now that if we keep bleeding the left side we'll have it all worked out pretty quick.
