Default Help! 4l80e 2003 chevy Silverado.

Ok guys I have been going thru it with this swap. First with the tranny its self now I'm 3 weeks without my truck, I really need it running by this next weekend and I only have Sundays off! I've being reading so much and having a bit of bad luck with the tranny. Need some CLARITY! I have so far:

4L80e and converter
crossmember
Transmission Slip Yoke, 4L80E/TH 400 (1350 U-joint)
Wire swap plan
And I know I need the driveshaft shorten.. Anyone with an 99-06 2wd ext cab with the swap done have the correct lenght it should be?
And is there any thing else I would need or missing???

Are you going the relay route or segment swap route to control the trans?

I can't think of anything else. Read through my swap thread if you have the time. I think 2wd and 4wd swaps need the same length reduction of driveshaft. It's in my thread.

The hardest part about doing my swap was removing the old trans and stuck on rusted bolts. This was my first time really wrenching on a car before, so you're likely more experienced than me.

I'm gathering parts for my 80E swap as well. I've done one already in a OBS z71 but not an LS.

For the flywheel, I went with the ATP-Z270 because I needed a 6 bolt flywheel for my Yank... but it comes with the flywheel, bolts, and the spacer needed. And as for the yoke and u joint, I'm unsure. I've read about 200 different answers. From the best I can figure, the longer th400 yoke, like you listed, with a bastard u joint which will depend on which u joint you already have - internal or external clips. Hopefully someone else will chime in and shine some more light on the matter though.

I dropped off my driveshaft to be shortened by 1 and 11/16 inches. 30min drive non biggie. It was done in an hour so picked it up. 2 hours on the road today (on a day off). It looks and measures great.
so tha should be the amount to cut..

The torque converter needs one of two things, custom made to accomodate the 4l60 3 bolt pattern with no spacer or the correct 4l80 flexplate, bolts, and spacer.... From what i can tell and i maybe wrong but a 4l80 converter is the same whether attached to an okder sbc ir an ls, difference is the spacer from what i can tell

Here's a thread that I followed. I didn't need to shorten shaft at all, just cut 5/8" off new 80e yoke. Good luck with your swap!
