Default Help choosing a stall, in over my head.

I traded for my truck as is, and now am having trans problems. Looking to replace it now. Since I'm guess I have a ton of cluth material in the stall I'm looking to replace. I have 2800 stall now, 5.3, trick flow Genx 205 heads, 220/224 560 lift 112 LSA cam, 3.73's, 285/35/22 rear tire, lt's into true duals.

My tune was never 100% so I'll be having it redone at the same time the new trans is installed. So changing my stall shouldn't matter. Just curious what stall range would be best. If I'm missing any that would help let me know. Just never could wrap my head around this stuff. If I hadn't traded for it is probably still be trying to pick out a cam.

With a low 220's cam in a 5.3 with 3.73 rear gears I would be looking in the 3400-3600 range if towing is not an issue.

Nope. Zero towing involved with the future of this truck. Thanks for the input.

Is it a DD? I agree with the stall speed mentioned above. The Yank ss3600 will likely perform best, but it is definitely on the loose side for a daily driver.

No it's just a cruiser. Nice days only. I've seen talk of loose and tight on them, all that means is sometimes the stall doesn't match what is says?

There's really no way to do this other than to try out the converter(s) yourself. I don't like the feel of loose converters myself.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the 2800 that was in there was too small anyways
