HELP...m6 & m12 differences...

hey...if it's got the longer crank that means a 4l80e should bolt right up!

This is really very interesting info though. I dont anyone ever knew that the 4.8 and 5.3's had longer cranks like the 6.0 did.

after all that work we did...not to mention, Id rather not have 3 holes on my floor for nothing...lol

I also called the gearbox today and he verified that indeed there is a difference between the f-body input shaft and GTO input shaft...but the difference is internally, not externally...so thats where we came up with I indeed have the longer crank...they also said they have done there fair share of cutting to the input shaft and it wouldnt be a big deal as long as there was enough splines for the clutch disk...

Pulled the input shaft tonight...all ready for her trip to the machinist tomorrow morning. Pretty straight forward task. I Built a stand for the T56 so it can remain verticle ( if tipped horizontal all the guts we be on the floor and pete's 6-speed wll quickly become a 0-speed). Then just pulled the bell housing followed by eleven bolts for the front cover, and carefully wiggle out the input shaft.
