Exclamation Help me lower my 06 V-Max 2WD Crew Cab

I want to lower my 2006 Vortec Max 2WD Crew Cab, 2" in the front and 3" in the rear.

It seems when I ask some local shops they are not sure and say they will get back to me. I'm guessing it's due to being a Crew Cab.

I do know Ground Zero and Beltech make lowering kits. I've also heard a tad about McCully or something like that. Will the stock Silverado SS parts lower it 2 & 3"?

I want it to ride/handle like stock and I don't want any geometry problems.

What would you guys recommend? Is this something I can do with regular tools or do I have to go to a shop? I did my own spring swap on my 2001 Camaro SS.

Thanks in advance guys!

Bill

I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 CrewCab. I will be doing a 2/4 Drop in the near future and will use the McGaughy's kit. It includes a 2 inch drop spindle in the front and a 2 inch drop shackle/2 inch leaf spring drop for the rear. I think the 2005+ trucks have a welded hanger for the rear leaf springs so you can't change the hanger like on previous year models. I was told by others using this kit that you keep factory ride in the front and the rear is a little bit softer than factory. Hope this helps.

I am guessing you could use a 2/3 drop kit used on an SS or VHO

I think the kit for the SS and CrewCab's are different. Check out http://www.mcgaughys.com/

You're going to want a kit for an 05' and newer VHO.
