A bit of an update. I got the trans back it today after $1050 of fees. I ended up having my original builder put in a full rebuilt, new band, Z-pack 3-4 clutches with kolene steels. The trans work he did was only $600 which isn't bad since over half of that was parts. I'm kicking myself for ever taking the truck to the first transmission shop, becuase they ended up costing me $450 to do something I could have done myself just as easily, but live and learn I guess

good news... these transmissions are a PITA.

 

Glad that you got it back together in time man...that sucks about the first shop that you went to, sounds like they were really trying to take advantage of you.

 

Yup, I think because I told them I needed it quick they tried to use that as leverage. Hopefully this setup will last a little longer. It's got just about everything but the 5 pinion planetaries and billet shafts in it now.
