Help Pick Wheel Tire Combo
Im casting out the 20's for some clean looking 16's. I want a wheel and tire combo that will complement my mods; offering performance gains, and not look like . Im not looking for any particular brand of tire, but what profile tire would work and look nice with a 16 inch rim, give me an edge performance wise, and offer a good tire height that works good with 3.73 gears in the quarter mile. How wide of tire do you all think I can go with the two rims I have chosen so far below and which one do you think would be best(would like to be no less than 275 wide)
Ion 165 series
Size:16x10
Finish: Aluminum polished
Offset:-38mm standard
Lug patterns to choose from:
6x5.5 Chevrolet Silverado 98-04
(4) 455.00 shipped
MB Overdrive
16X8 8-165.1 -6MM (70764)
(4) $340.00 ~
Thanks in Advance

That's the one I'd choose, but wouldn't spend 340 for a 16" wheel.

when you say backspacing, are you talking about the offset. I think both of these rims have a positive offset, meaning the mounting surface to the hub is on the rim side of center, which are the way the rims I have now are.

According to the chart on this page the 16x8 wheel has 4.25" backspacing and the 16x10 has 4". For reference, my 8 inch wide wheel has 5.5 inches of backspacing and sits just a hair inward from being flush. So those wheels may stick out a bit, especially the 10" wide rim.

I would go with some centerline 17's or the gmc-yukon rims http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GMC-S...QQcmdZViewItem

That thing just doesn't look right........ Looks like a Dodge Durango front end with its cab body cut short and a mini bed bolted down to the frame.
Sorry, I just had to say it........
