Tryin to finish my 4l80 swap and my shift linkage cable is to long. How can I shorten it up some?

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but there is an adjuster in the cable somewhere down by the transmission.

Are you using the 4l80e cable to case bracket?

You'll use the original cable, unmodified. You need the bracket for the 80E. There's a GM part number listed in the stickied conversion thread.

The linkage arm is that from your old 60E? I could see you having to adjust the cable some but it should not be way off.

Yes its from the old 60. I can force it on but it bows real bad and when u get in the truck u just barely touch the drive select lever and it shoots down in 3. Also it won't go back in park using the lever and I can't get it down to 1 with the lever.

Can you post a pic of your shifter linkage/cable end? So we can make a suggestion?

I've done a couple of these, and used the truck's original cable without any trouble.
