Figured it out thanks to a buddy. I had a moment I guess after a long day at work. Got it all figured out tho

Was the transmission not in the same gear as the indicator???

On mine the 99 60e shifter cable and lever bracket mounted with the 80e cable bracket was .200 too long. I opened the holes that mount it to the trans case obround so that the cable would line up with the pin, shifts perfect. Would have been way off if I tried to force it.
