How To Identify A Stall Converter
Hey guys pretty new to this site and I have been picking up a lot off here! My question is that I just pulled out the stall converter in my 4l65E and it looks to be new and aftermarket. Problem is I dont know who made it and what size it is and I want to get rid of it but I cant without knowing what it is! Someone want to help me out?

It is going to be hard to tell by the given information. Are there numbers on it? Most manufacturers (not all) will put numbers on it to identify it. Do you have any pics of it? What color is it? A lot of manufacturers will color their converters differently. The size will more than likely be different if it is an after market converter. If there are no numbers on it, you might have to talk to the previous owner otherwise it is basically an unknown converter. Mods to the truck would help with what the converter "should" have been stalled to.

Will do
Hey guys thanks for the insight and I will post some pics of it tonight for sure! The truck when I got it had a "built" tranny with a 6.0 supercharged with a magna charger and that was it! When I rebuilt the top end and took the charger off I put in a edge performance 3000 stall and it was for sure more than the previous stall!
I will look on it some more and post some pics tonight...thanks for the help again!

Not 100% sure, one more full pic from the side would confirm.....But it looks like a 300mm/12" OE style converter. It is an OE higher stall, what cam in the 4.8s. Stock they are about 2000 RPM, if it is modified maybe 2400. Good luck....
