Were are they selling 6l80/90's cheap at??? I want one!
Are the two wheel drives and 4x4 different? IE to they have the different output shaft length? And does the transfer case adapter have the standard round 6 bolt pattern for the transfer case? And its 32 spline right?
I like the first and over drive. I can have 3.08's and still get off the line nad have a nice OD as well!

Everything has is breaking point......
XLR8NSS has beat the **** out of his 6L90-E, and I am not easy on my 6L80-E. I have a 6L90-E out of a CTS-V in my sights just for a back up. It was mentioned above "Any trans that is rated to handle 556 hp and 550 lb/ft of torque doesnt have "weak" hard parts.
Those ratings are almost double what a 4l60e is rated for."
and: "Just because a vehicle has "torque management" doesnt mean that the engine NEVER produces its full rated power. The newer CERTIFIED SAE power specs guarentee that engine produce their rated power/torque"
Now, granted I am not running any TQ Management in my G8....THis is more for the "feel" than anything. I have debated turning the TM back on just to see the difference.
FWIW, I am headed to the dyno with a smaller pulley and some bigger injectors today

I'm running mine without any TM. So far I haven't had an issue yet. Knock on wood. EFI Live and HP Tuners can take it out. The problem is its either all or nothing with the TM. I hated the shifting on this transmission with the TM intact. It was easily the worst shifting transmission I have ever had. I am real curious how far we can push these tranny's as well. In the sping I plan on a TVS under the hood and I'd like to know how far I'll be able to push it. The main thing with these tranny's is the proper tuning. Off by a little and it goes pop.
