How much you want it to be?.. If you going to keep a stock cam in it, a 2600 would be a nice upgrade.... You need to decide what your going to do with the truck

Ill never own anything with less than a 3K...I don't care if the rest of the thing is showroom stock. A converter is just about the best SOTP upgrade out there...

I loved my 3400 with stock cam

What a Trailblazer converter cost anyway? Around 200-250 or so and they stall around 2600. A PI or Yank will cost around 600+ I would think and the stall of your choice, that and a lot better STR. If it was me and I had the money I would go aftermarket. Small diameter high stall.

i agree. i had a 3000 converter and loved it, but still found it too tight. i now have a 3600 converter and love it with the stock cam.

I plan on putting gears, Headers and getting a tune, the only thing i haul is a 4-wheeler sometimes. A friend of mine has a yank 3600 that came out of his 98 camaro, but i think that may be too much converter for the 4.8.

Do the gears first before you add a converter. Are you going from 3.42s to 4.10s?

Yeah, I thought the truck had 3.23's, but i checked it and it was 3.42's. I thought about 3.73's but i don't think that wouldn't be worth it.

Do 4.10s (I have 4.11s but its the same thing) and it made an awesome difference. My results were a bit biased since I had a cam with a stock converter at the time. But 1st gear had a good bit more ***** from a dig, and it kept pulling hard through 2nd gear, but 3rd gear feels pretty weak IMO. OD on the highway was awesome too, and your RPMs are going to be about 2300 at 70 if I can remember right.
