i would do a converter before gears. i picked up alot more with a converter. BTW scott, you always say you have 4.11 gears but i talked to rick from ebay and he said their 4.10s they just say 4.11 on the box..

Does 100th of a rotation matter? Lol... That 3600 will do you nicely since the 4.8s are notorious for lacking tq down low... I'd do at least a 3400 since you don't plan to tow much.
