Once you feel an 80E shift you never want your old 60E

Dont fall into the gearing jibberish either, the first gear in the 60E in my truck was useless, just spun, the 80e helped my truck launch smoother/harder with no wheel hop.

It feels strong and peppy, not big and slow.

I swapped a cam and added boost/tuning when i did my swap so time comparison wouldnt be fair, but i dont think there really would be the same.

I did a 80e swap and did change anything else, run a yank ss4000 on the 60e and on the 80e, in 4000 da I ran 12.5 @ 106 and in the same da I went 12.8 @ 105. Top end is about the same but the 60 foot went from 1.75 to 1.87

Yes, your 60' times will suffer. I can't seem to do better than 1.8 but it's been worth it otherwise.

The only reason your 60' would suffer is with the wrong converter or gearing or both

Well yeah thats the point, the 80e has a taller first gear so your 60 foot will always be slower with a 80e, a na engine makes more power at 6000 then at 5000 so the quicker you get it to the high rpm the faster your 60 foot will be. With boost or n20 you can use the 80e to an advantage cause you can can build all the mid range torque you want but not on a na setup.
