I did gain 2 mph and 2 tenths
a lil KR could cost him 1mph if you think about it.
even if it slows you down, i like the peice of mine of having a strong transmission after goin thru so many 4L60Es.
no way im going to tow what i would tow now with a 60E.. just dont trust them

Yeah the 60es hold about half of what a 80e, the 80e is a much better tranny overall, third gear is 1-1 in both trannys so with the same stall and hp you cant run any shorter gear in one then the other, so if you have to put in a shorter gear and higher stall in the 80e try swaping back to 60e with that setup. The 60e is just going to run faster then a 80e with the gearing, plus the 80e is 40lbs heavyr and has much larger rotating parts in it. If your fi and you need to lug the engine then a 80e could be better for what your doing, or throwing a big hit of n2o at it.. Iv been throw both trannys and have had na, n20, and now turbo and love the 80e with the n2o and turbo, but it was a big set back when trying to run good et na.

Yeah, why would you expect to GAIN anything down low going from a 3.xx first gear to a 2.48. That's retarded. Of course you're going to have to change things around. That only makes sense. Unless you were making stupid power and blowing the tires off with the 4l60e, then the tamer first gear would help.
It's all about the whole package, not just pieces of it.
