Default Hydroboost question

Got a booster, pedal and lines from another member. (Thanks ZR1 dreaming!)

Looks to be in overall good condition. Even the weep hole shows no sign of prior leaks.

Opposite side of the bore near the mating surface with the master cylinder has some surface rust. Looks like something sat there for a bit. See pics below.

Looking for suggestions for how to remove without jacking up the surface.

Scotch brite pad (I like the marron ones) and/or small wire brush (tooth brush size).

With some penetrating oil to lube the friction.

Thanks for the suggestions! I was thinking along those lines but wanted to be sure.

When I installed mine I left the drain hole open, but sealed the surface with hondabond. My used hydroboost looked the same way

Wire brush and penetrating lube for the win! Now I just need time to install.

Nice work meatwad! That'll be one of your favorite mods, the hydroboost on my dmax is fantastic.

Thanks ZR1! I’ve been wanting to get going on this swap for a while. My SS should have come with it from the factory IMO.

Do you happen to know what year the unit is from? I forgot to ask.
