Default I just installed my McG spindles. Not low enough! Now what?

I just finished the McG spindle install and I don't think my truck is low enough. I neglected to measure before. This is the closest thing I've got.

Before:

After:

Now, it is lower but not as much as I thought it would be.

I also have a set of lowering keys I could use. I'm looking for advice from guys that have lowering spindles and keys.

How does it handle? Is there a compromise? I would like my truck to handle as best as it can. I put in a Hellwig swaybar as well.

I haven't even put my lowering shackles in the rear. It sits level now. I'm thinking if I put the keys in and the shackles in it would sit about level again.

What do you guys think?

try backing off your factory keys first, and see where that gets you.

I've never messed with the keys at all. Wouldn't swapping to the lowering keys be better for handling?

Drop keys will not improve handling. They just allow you to decrank more than stock.

I'm most concerned about poor handling. I don't want a jarring ride. If decranking the keys will get me lower without sacrificing too much handling, I'll do it.

I guess I misunderstood what lowering keys do. I thought they reclocked the lower A-arm in a different location without changing the torsion bar tension.

You're saying they just allow you to crank the torsion bar even lower?

Would it be better to decrank my factory keys or install my lowering keys?

I haven't gotten an alignment yet. I want to make sure I have the suspension the way I want it before I pay for it.

Thanks so much for your help.

Try decranking stock keys first and see how it sits. Only takes a minute. If you like it then leave it, if you still want lower then put the lowering keys in.

How much is an okay amount to decrank? Does it go by turns? Like 3 turns or something? I figure I need like an inch or 2 more. Can I get that out of the factory keys? Is the ride really bouncy with decranked keys?

You can decrank stock keys all the way. Some people even take the adjustment bolts out and it will still have tension on the torsion bar. It shouldnt ride too bad but you need to check the clearance you have between your lower control arms and the bumpstop. You will have to trim it down to where it just barely touches the lca.
