I Need some quick help please
I need to know if my u joins are bad. I had a cap pop off the front shaft yesterday. The grease inside was black as coal. I've been havin a bin issue lately in he front. Tires got balanced, axles replaced, rotors and pads are all new. But the steering wheel shimmys. I'm goin right now to finish my yank install and need to know if I need to do these too. The cap popes off cause I broke the retainer bar thing.

Yeah I know about the greasable ones. That would blow breaking one on the street. Could this cause my steering wheel to wobble at speed? When I balanced the tires it basically went away. But then I wash all he piles of grease off them and it seems to be back worse. I may go ahead and rebalance the fronts just to be sure.

My Dad had a similar issue years ago with a Explorer. One of the belts had gone bad and this was the case after many other repairs were made. We found it by having the truck in the air and removed all the schrader valve to let all the air out of the tires. While slowly spinning the tire and feeling the thread on the tires, we found the bad tire. It basically had a low spot that we could not feel with air in the tires. Put the spare on and the vibration was gone. HTH Vince
