And Circle D knows how to build a Converter. The only complaint I have about mine is that I shoulda went bigger.
It's tighter at partial throttle than I was expecting.

I'm sitting at 160K orginal stock trans with a shift kit, orginal converter, radiator cooler, and 0% TM. It's a 4.8 with a TSP220. I'm just waiting for it to blow! My floor boards vibrate from 4K to 5500. That's from the trans slipping . . . you should see a log of it!

If you have anything close to a nice truck or you're wanting it to last . . . leave 75% or more in it. Yes it will for a little while, but it will break. If you're planning on keeping the cam, and you will want to go bigger . . . start saving for a built trans . . . it's just a time bomb . . . it will let go.

drop the pan now and change the oil/filter if you want it to last . . . and don't do a trans flush . . . it's the worse thing that you can do.

I agree taking out the torque management will indeed be harder on the trans a will putting in a stall. But at the same time I see little point in doing power adders and then allowing the PCM to take away some of the power you added just for the sake of the trans.
Your spending money to make that power. I would spend money to be able to use that power. IMHO

My trans lasted 23k in stock trim with pressures and shift points turned up, and 0 torque management. I like to open it up on a daily basis...granted my cam and other mods are mild and I have a halfway decent trans cooler (PermaCool 17k), but I really enjoyed stabbing the go pedal every chance I got

You roll the dice on a 4L60E every time you turn the key, no matter if you're stock, bolt ons, or have a more stout combo...

Unless that trans is properly built... For that, call Finishline Transmissions...

I have NO TM in my tune, on the stock trans with a shift kit. Truck/trans has 47k on it and it shifts just fine.... Also I shift at about 6900-7000 at the track...

When i left ~20% of the TM in the tune the truck shift rather odd at part throttle, it was noticiable and it sucked, so i yanked it all....
